| Leah Hetzel is a flight student at Jacksonville University, Jacksonville, FL. She has just completed her Sophomore year and has earned her Commercial Pilot Certificate with instrument, Single-Engine and Multi-Engine ratings. She will soon finish her Flight Instructor rating (CFI). She will use our scholarship toward getting her Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) rating when classes start in September
Leah is working toward a degree in Aviation Management & Flight Operations. Besides being an excellent student, she is president of the campus Women in Aviation chapter. She reaches out to the community through organizations such as Girls Inc. and TRU_IMPACT, to inspire young girls and encourage them to achieve their dreams. Leah is a member of Alpha Omicron Alpha, the Aeronautical Honor Society and has been recognized for her outstanding leadership and dedicated participation in Women in Aviation as Member of the Year.
